Hi!

Flashing patched RPC1 1732 firmware fails both using the Windows and DOS variant.
Using (real) DOS: "Can't access drive"
Windows: Flashing starts, tray opens, shortly afterwards "The error occurred during updating. Power Off"

(Drive works after reboot, firmware hasn't changed)

What should I try next?

Thanks.

How did you get into REAL DOS and have you tried flashing in SAFE MODE?

Flashing in Safe Mode fails, saying "Secondary 2: not connect; drive not connected"
Booting from my USB flash drive into DOS (Win 98 bootdisk with OAK-driver) gives me: "Secondary 2: no permission to flash; drive not connected".
Useless to say that it IS connected and recognised in XP and DOS. (I'm not an expert but no bloody rookie, having successfully flashed at least 8 different drives over the past years, thanks to "The Firmware Page" and CdFreaks!)

Hmm... The firmwares look perfectly fine to me. You said you aren't rookie, so here is what I would like you to test...

First the DOS flasher V175teg.exe. I have uploaded the BIN files off all the firmwares here:

http://hijacker.rpc1.org/toshiba/index. ... =SD-R6372/

Download R6372_X732.bin. Rename it to X732.bin. Boot to real DOS with V175teg.exe and the bin file and run:

V175teg.exe X732.bin

And see if then it will flash. If still not then download twinfwup.exe and twinfwup2.exe from here:

http://hijacker.rpc1.org/toshiba/index. ... Utilities/

And try to flash with this two flasher under windows.

It has to work.

Let me know of the results.

So you used BIN file and v175teg.exe under pure DOS?

Can you please make a DISCInfo screenshot (press G key on main DISCInfo window) and send it to me or post it here.

I have updated my page with the bin file inside ZIP packages. And added your screenshot. Thanks!
