good evening everyone,
I just bought an external 110D USB2.0/Firewire. I would like to be able to have these new features while being region free. I know I may sound stupid, but I don't know how to do this stuff at all. I hope one of you will take some time to transmit his knowledge. I am on Mac/PC if that could help.
Thanks very much
PS: What is buffalo, I see a lot of people talking about it, and I just dont get it

When I have flashed my 110 with this new firmware I have written a Verbatim DVD+R 16X at max 12,8X (with Nero7): with the 1.37 I have burned this media at max 15.7 with the same program so I have reflashed it with this older firmware.
Sergio.

There is no RPC-1 for this available yet. You could use software solution actually, like VLC tools and DVD43, DVD Region+CSS FREE, AnyDVD...
Buffalo is an OEM who rebadges Pioneer burners, and they have their own firmware with an extra feature which the original Pioneer firmwares don't have: Auto-Bitsetting for +R media. Booktype is changed from DVD+R to DVD-ROm for better compatibility with older drives and standalones.
However, DVD+R DL media is Auto-Bitset to DVD-ROM, even with Pioneers own firmware.

IMHO, there is no real reason to upgrade to this 1.39 firmware, if you use well-known DVD media, like MCC, or Yuden, or TDK.
The only thing is new DVD+-RW 6-8x disks support, but (WTF?!) I can't find such media in Belarus
By the way, I've found some Imation Double Layer DVD+R disks. Are these disks worth buying, or they are crap?
