Hi Expert,

Does anyone know how to flash Asus 1608P to Pioneer A09? Actually they are the same product, with the exactly the same configuration, as like as 1604P=>A08.

Many Many Thanks!

Phero

I think more important are new firmware releases and they come earlier from Pioneer, no doubt.

My Pioneer 109 => ASUS 1608P with downloaded ASUS upgrade 1.02.
My Pioneer drive is working correctly with Nero 6.6.0.6. and ASUS firmware.
I want reflash original Pioneer FW 1.05 (kernel/firmware) with DVRFLASH. DVRFLASH 2.0 recognize this drive like ASUS 1608P FW 1.02. but write message "The ASUS DRW-1608P is not supported by this utility - Aborting."
It's my problem.

Sorry my bad english.

DVRFlash doesn't support the Pio109 and also the Asus1608p yet.

It is not possible to answer this.
The Pioneer 109 have changed the way that the firmware update works so the firmware updater program like DVRFlash have to have a major re-write. So you will have to be patient and wait for this to be done.

Remember everyone also has jobs.

This may not be the only problem to overcome, the kernel may react differently (although I shouldn't imagine by much) so this too may need re-writing.

I'm sure in time it'll be done...

axela,

have you tried to replace the firmware files from the ASUS package with those from the Pioneer package?
I ask this because it seems to FORCE a flashing regardless if the drive is a Pio or Asus...

Nevermind, the PIONEER Kernel-file is still n/a.

I have 1 original Pioneer 109 and 1 original ASUS 1608P.
ASUS updater change kernel and firmware without problem in Pioneer drive because identifier GENERAL in drive. After change identifier is ASUS.
Pioneer OEM updater ASUS, Medion,... change Pioneer GENERAL drive to another OEM drive without force. But, not working vica-versa.

File identifier:
9100*.* Pioneer GENERAL
9123*.* ASUS
9143*.* Pioneer PIO_ADV
...

If i change file name 9100*.* to 9123*.* updater not working because say "wrong fw".

I need updater parameter list how can probably force update.

Sorry my bad english.

It looks like the updater does infact check the drive model and therefore does not allow you to force an update!

That would have been quite useful if it had worked...

This text is from updater:

Hardware Revision is not matched.
Continue because Force Update option is specified.

My guess it is allowing you to froce the firmware becuase the hardware revision is incorrect, but it knows the the firmware is incorrect.

This could help with the creation of DVDFlash for 109???

Yep, just saw that.

What about the BUFFALO version? It's 8.17 which is in fact the 1.17 + Bitsetting.
Worth a try maybe?!

The firmware ID for the BUFFALO version is "OEM_INT".
