I've cleaned things up in FlashIt and added a stern warning if the user attempts to flash an OEM drive with just the Firmware. The Kernel is necessary on an OEM drive to make it official Pioneer.

Remember that this is only a script that tries to verify what your doing before sending the information to DVRFlash. If you receive no warning from FlashIt and then DVRFlash gives you a warning, take heed! There's likely a very good reason for the warning!

If you get the OEM message from FlashIt, it's because your drive reported a Kernel type other than "GENERAL" or "PIO_ADV" and you don't have a kernel file in the folder. For safety's sake, find the appropriate Kernel file and add it. This can be the Kernel from a recent upgrade for your drive.

You can download the FlashIt Kit Here.

Thanks for all the work and testing on your script and continued MAC support! Nice job.

Las Vegas:
Thanks so much for time and generosity involved in putting up the Flash It Kit; it worked fine with the Pioneer firmware update to 1.16 for my DVR-107D on my G4 running 10.3.4.
No problems at all.
Regards, Paul

I just updated FlashIt! Now the Xpert mode works again and it now verifies the firmware and kernel files according the file's contents as opposed to the filenames. This is a lot safer, since it would be easy enough to change a filename to force it to be accepted by FlashIt. DVRFlash also verifies by the contents.
