Sorry for the cynicism.

as he hosted the pics on yahoo briefcase and he directly copied the link from there, they were shown as long as his session was still valid. now it has expired and we can't see them anymore :(

did the pics tell something about the cache size?

so from that pdf file above it shows that the 2510A is really based on the 2100 equipment?

so it's really not the 2500 = 2510

hmm... looks quite like my 2500a, the only different things are 32x read, 10x (!?) times write and of course the DL-feauture.
maybe it won't be such a big problem f

Firmware Version: K0P2

I think that gives input for more speculations...
A newer Infotool should also display something about DL abilities.

The RPC1 is what makes me wonder. If it was stock 2510 it would be RPC2 surely. Prank?

Also Nero Info Tool is not so hot. Would prefer a DVDInfoPro check myself.

EDIT: You move fast! NOW I know why it's RPC1 ;)

Has anybody flashed a 2500a to 2510a or is it a 2100 to 2510a???

Or are the pictures even from an original 2510a???

I think you need the newest version of DVDInfoPro to see the +R DL.

Please can you say me how to flash the drive. I tried with a boot disc and your tool but the file is too big for my floppy.
Is there another method to flash.
My System runs on NTFS so just unzipping to harddisk won't help.

Use a second disk for firmware & flasher if you cannot fit them on one disk.

The 2510A has a 2MB buffer. Why would it need to be bigger, DL goes at 2.4X?

The 2100A is the original 2x00A series drives, all others derive from it. The patched versions should work on a 2100A, but there doesn't seem much point in everyone flashing this firmware unless you have DL media and software to burn such media. We'd much rather see one person with media try it, than 100 me too's who don't.

The firmware we received from abubin was RPC2, can't explain why the previous screen shots indicate RPC1.

guys, sorry for the broken picture link as i didn't have time to think where to upload them. I just got back from work and capture the printscreen and upload to yahoo. Didn't realize about the session thingie.

Anyway, thanks fo DDay for uploading the pictures.

FYI, I got this firmware directly from a 2510a drive. That drive itself only have 2mb buffer. Not sure if it's the real 2510a drive at I got it from "underground" from someone who got it directly from the drive manufacturer factory. That drive does not have any label on it. So I am skecptical myself. But with this drive, NERO 6 shows in the lower bar for burning up to 9GB!!

Then I sold this 2510a drive. Manage to extract the firmware and apply it on my 2500a. At that time, my 2500a drive was using herrie's 1.06b7 firmware.

BTW, in the firmware that "The Dangerous Brothers" posted, what does "with patched binaries" means?
