That would be awesome! Herrie, you are the best!
Could you also add etna's regionfree hack?

Yes, really good work Herrie. I´m very thankful you put your time and effort in this.
But really shame on NEC who dont support their customers to 100% and dont pull their fingers out of their asses. Instead the users have to do the job which NEC should have done in the first place from the very beginning.

Ok after some further investigations I was able to complete a very good version of my NEC firmware
With the previous versions there were some reports of 2x media that didn't work, this should be solved now:)
List of added media codes:
6 times space (2x tested & verified)
6 times space (4x tested & verified)
Auvistar (2x tested & verified)
BeAll G00001 (2x tested & verified)
CMC MAG.AF01 (4x tested & verified)
DDD DVDR (2x tested & verified)
EuroDig-Disc (2x tested & verified)
GSC001 (2x tested & verified)
LEADDATA01 (4x tested & verified)
LONGTEN TECH (4x tested & verified)
MAMEG02 (2x experimental)
NANYA (2x)
PRINCO (4x tested & verified) (Princo White Tops 1-4x, BulkPaq 1-4x)
PRODISCG01 (2x tested & verified)
SHT 001 (2x experimental)
SKC Co Ltd. (2x)
UTJG01001 (2x tested & verified)
The following media have been removed (because they don't exist and they were disabled anyway in the firmware):
2FUJIFILM...
3FUJIFILM...
4FUJIFILM...
5FUJIFILM...
CMC00RG301..
CMC00RG302..
MCC 02RG20
MCC 03RG20
MCIG03......
OPTODISCK005
PRODISCG03..
PRODISCG04..
PVC001002
PVC001003
PVCR001004..
PVCR002002..
TYG03.......
The new firmware can be downloaded here:
Normal version: http://212.203.28.251/105xp.rar
RPC2 (Auto Reset thanx to Etna): http://212.203.28.251/105xpauto.rar
RPC1 (Free thanx to Etna): http://212.203.28.251/105xpfree.rar
Please test it! I'd like to know the results, especially for the 'experimental' ones

I don't know what you you just ate for your dinner, but I'll have some of the same! Well done! You are NEC Firmware King!
One question - does this include the RPC and Rip hacks as well?

Rip hacks included in all Etna's RPC hacks are in the 2 other versions (that's why I made 3: 1 normal, 1 autoreset, 1 free)

Really curious about your results, because your media has the status of 'experimental'

hi and thanks Herrie for all your help... can you please tell me whether most media ie. datawrite redtop DVD-r x4 actually write at 4x or is they still restricted to 2x.
also can you tell me whether bulkpaq generation 4 (orangetop) the best i can tell is the media is identified as princo by nero dvd decryptor and dvdinfo, i cant test with advd cos it gives an aspi error regardless of which media is used...

GJ HERRIE!
As a newbie, I don't know what the "auto reset"-version means, and why should anyone use "normal" version, where there's region free as well?
Lame ass questions, but to quote a finnish saying: "No one is a blacksmith when they're born."

All 4x Princo's (Datawrite, Princo or others) should work @ 4x now (2 of 3 different 4x versions have been tested successfully )
I recall that BulkPaq are Princo's as well, but they haven't been tested yet as far as I know. But in theory they should work @ 4x too

Auto reset means it will reset your region lock every time you restart your PC Every time you reboot you are able to change your region code 5 times

Thanks for the quick reply.
Well, why would anyone use NORMAL or AUTO RESET-version, where there's completely region free version as well?!

Some DVD's might not play on a region-free one (because they have some protection )

Is it possible to write 1x media in 1x speed? My ND-1300 refuses to write anything slower than 2x and 90% of the 1x discs I've burned in 2x speed don't work. Or is it possible to hack the firmware so that it can write in 1x speed? The discs I'm trying to use are these:
Code: 00 42 00 00 01 40 C1 FD 9E D8 50 00 02 7A 0D 11 .B...@....P..z.. 88 88 70 00 03 4F 50 54 4F 44 49 00 04 53 43 4B ..p..OPTODI..SCK 30 30 31 00 05 88 80 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 00 00 001.............
Thanks in advance everybody!

50 indicates that it's 2x media Officially there isn't no 1x media, because the media code can only be 50 or 52. 50 = 2x, 52 = 4x!
