Ok anyone working on the new Liteon DVD 8x LDW811s?.
Just tried to Burn Mirror DVD+ At 4x, But the burner would only allow 2.5.
Got the New Firmware update HS0E, used Hexedit and can c the media codes:-)
If you got to 0x1169FF U will c what i mean. Above there are loads of 88888..22222. I asume this is something to do with the write speed?.
If i can confirm with anyone. I want to play and test..
UPDATE: Found Another GoTo 0x103B97
Regards
Pacman

RICOHJPNR01, RICOHJPNR02, YUDEN000T01, YUDEN000T02, MCC002, and MCC003 discs burn at 8x with HS0E. There might be a few others that allow 8x too... You don't always get a working disc though. MEDIA ID001 discs are not supported yet, so they burn with the default speed of 2.4x

is it possible that the RICOHJPNR02, YUDEN000T02 and MCC003 are real 8x certified media? i think so because till now i cant find any with this media-id. so i think they will be aviable in next few weeks.

don't know if you realise, but you'll never get those DVD-R 4X running at 8X, you'll only get some DVD+R 4X running at 8.

Working on what? Lite-ON is probably working on improving the drive through firmware updates.

I'm actually kind of offended by that. You did not say anything about what kind of "work" you were wondering about.
As for why my post count is high, maybe you can think a little longer and come up with some better reasons than saying I spam the forum.

I do not try to offend anyone (Being A Mod Meself), but as you can see from what i posted from the start, i thought it would be obvious what i was TALKING About.

If you want any +R media codes for the HS0E firmware changed to allow 4x or 8x recording then just ask and supply me the media code and I will give you the byte changes

wouldn't it be possible to change all +r 4x media codes in the firmware to allow them 8x ? Something similar like the pioneer 1x to 2x patch for the medias ..
