Hi, I am new and was wondering if anyone can help me flash my Toshiba DVD-rom SD C2502. I used the firmware for it by XVI in dos using windows ME, and when I go to flash it, it says that my DVD-rom is the secondary master. The DVD-rom tray then pops open, and it as me if I want to overwrite flash rom. When I hit "yes" it goes through the process... After tha data transfer and it does the comparison test, it says the following: romng[1] aerror[00]comparison : error not stop or eject And my DVD-rom isn't flashed properly. Please tell me what I am doing wrong. Any help is appreciated.

If you read some of the topics in the DVD-ROM forum, you'll see that there might be a problem with the 2502 firmware...

I think we all all of us affected kwno there is something wrong with the flashing process, not necesarily the firmware itself because I can+t flash the original firmware back.
Any ideas?

I have the same problem as stated by Jotarou. I used e1007.hex with VUP100k.EXE (pack 2502_1007.zip).
I have seen another file is available: x011.hex (Patched X011 RPC-1 for drives with 10xx firmware).
What is the difference between the two? Is x011.hex better than e1007.hex.
For those who had a failure during the flashing: did you notice any consecutive malfunctions?

Did any-one report the bug to the patch author?
