Hi all,

I tried to flash my CR-4804TE cd writer firmware and it failed. Now it is not even detected by BIOS. Is there a way (mktflash or other) to force-flash the firmware again?

The firmware has been destroyed by the official DOS FLASH utility bundled with firmware 3.0D (without power loss).

USA Mitsumi support (support@mitsumi.com) responds:

"I'm sorry, but if you flashed the firmware and it failed, there is nothing
we can do to correct it."

German Mitsumi support (support@mitsumi.de) does not respond at all...

I am in the same boat. I treid MTKFLASH but this drive in NOT Mediatek and does not work. I tried ROMUPD too but that says DRIVE BUSY (its promising though) - I posted on another thread to see if someone has a hacked FLASH.EXE that forces flast to IDE channel/master/slave, etc.
