Not many users are thanking the firmware patches makers... Why is that I wonder... Without them the DVD comunity would be forced to use single region movies and you would pay a lot of money sending your drives to the companies that made your units, so they could reset the conter. This just plain sux.
Remember... They are not payed to make the patches and they do it with they own free will. So let us give a little credit to them.... They deserve it!

I think I've thanked him before, but I will thank xvi again for the constant and great quality of his work.
I think he's by far the most active patcher, and without him, most of us would be condemned to err a world where freedom has been banned.
Etna also seems to be quite active as well, but I really wish to thank anybody who ever produced a patch.

Okay, guys, now this is not just about time it is also about money. Just so everyone knows this forum is running on a domain that is paid for by :NIL<...
From now on the thanks should have some awe and admiration towards him (and next year Hijacker) for doing what NOT many people in today's world do: they pay to HELP!
I don't know if there is a way to express the thanx they deserve!

Thanks Adwizer but actually, this is not completely true:
Hijacker pays for the domain and I pay for the host.
And as far as I could see, this new host is excellent and very affordable, so paying for it is no big trouble

whether we thank you or we thank you not, you will always be thanked!!!
I think MOST people just come to this website and they find what they are looking for, download it, and exit the website.
It is only those who have problems in finding what they are looking for or those who are interested in firmware etc. that come to these forums to make a query.
Those who find what they are looking for will always appreciate what they found, and will always have a gratitude towards those who made it possible to give them what they wanted.
And that goes for the makers of these firmware, and for those who make it possible to put them up on a website such as this one.
Our thanks goes out to all of you guys!!!
Cheers =)

I bet that EmpireEarth is right, most people come here, download quick and leave. They are too afraid of being labeled a Terrorist (I'm in USA) for wanting to hack their DVD firmware. This could be a federal crime after all.
Me, I am not so afraid. I bought the damn thing, if I want to change the firmware, put in in the microwave oven, or just smash it to bits I have the right!
Some people are afraid, but some people are also used to getting everything for free on the 'net and never saying thanks. You know, warez and all that. I'm not saying that's right or wrong... but for a lot of folks (especially on a board like this) have a kind of arrogant attitude.
Wow, I started preaching. I'll shut up. One more thing: Thanks to NIL, Hijacker, and everyone else for the effort they put into keepin' it real in this little corner of cyberspace.

Giving the thanks for something without saying your name is like throwing stones for hiding your hands......
My name is Juan Rodriguez and I'm from Mexico and I'll like to thank NIL for the Universal Upgrader for the Pioneer DVR-103, It works just fine and It Would save me a lot of money and time, cause here In Mexico the best movies allways are Imported from USA and all are Region 1, but the new movies that I rent on Blockbuster all are Region 4, so I can't say that I owe You a lot but I will start by just saying
THANK YOU

I will never be grateful enough to you guys for allowing me the pleasure of being free (regionwise). How can i ever return such a gift ?
In the meantime I will wait for the firmware to turn the Pioneer 104 (new imac) into RPC-1.
Good luck XVI and may the force be with you forever.

Yep thanks to all involved, from the patchers to the web masters and moderators...
This RPC-2 thing is evil.
I'm stil waiting for a patch for my drive, and now only come here once a week or so, but I still apreciate everyone's effort - as said many times before, this scene is purely voluntary.
Bonne continuation :)

Many thanks to the following;
1. People involved with initiating maintaining and hosting this forum.
2. The individual who was responsible for the development of the DVR-103 RPC-1 firmware patch.
3. Last and not to be forgotton; the guy who posted the "Short 2 pins on an IC and press the reset button" which, allowed me to rid my drive of Pioneer's lame 1.80 firmware, thereby, enabling my DVR-103 to be flashed back to 1.68 followed by the RPC-1 patch. Now region free!!
THANK YOU ALL

Thanks for hijacker who seems to be in the forum all the time. His hotswap topic just saved my DVDROM. (I was shopping for a new 106S before I repaired it!)
And thanks to >NIL: who is very keen and warm to help and just made a new patch for the 1648A with hijacker.
Thanks a lot!

Hi all ,
I have to agree with everyone on here , total respect for everyone who has made this site a success and helped free us of DVD zoning . My last computer had a Pioneer drive zapped to region free by Hijacker if I recall ..now even more amazingly our old comp in my family home has been made region free AT THE CLICK OF A BUTTON ..Hitachi GD 5000 ..by XVI`s excellent software . I look forward to the day my new Matshita SR 8588 can be region free too .
Yours gratefully ,
Neoprene . ( formerly of Region 2 )

i would also like to express my thanks to the people on this board who are helping out on every occasion they can. although i haven't successfully patched a single drive (that's not my fault but for my drives there hasn't been a region-free firmware ) i know how time consuming and how much personal effort it is to run a board like this, to be present at all times and not loose your faith in people who just take and never say thanks or even give.
my big thx fly out to hijacker, etna, nil and all the moderates and active member of this community.

Hi,
I am Prashant from Bangalore, India.
It was always there at the back of my mind that I should thank those who helped me make my drive region free but I never got around to it
Reading Hijackers post made me act. Better late than never
A big thanks to Etna for helping me watch DVDs from all regions
I have a Samsung drive and his hack works perfectly all the time. I would also like to thank everybody who has been involved in the creation and maintenance of this site. It is an excellent site. I can see that a lot of effort and love has gone into the creation of this site.
Thanks and warm regards
Prashant
