Just for the record: I have an Aopen Dvd/rom 12- 40(R22); can I use this patch(r23), that you describes here?

Hi yes you can ! The numbers 22 and 23 are version numbers of the firmware patch. So 23 is the newer version of the firmware you currently have. The patch you have downloaded is a patched version 23. Have fun and let me now if it worked !

Hello Zifnab,
Besides my dvd/rom I have a device for burning cd`s. The flashprogram doesnot work before I disconnect that device I guess.
Is there a possibility to run the flash without disconnecting my device to burn cd`s?
I hate to disconnect all the plugins and open up my computer.

Sorry as far as i know there is no other solution. But the only thing you really have to disconnect is the power cable to your other drive so you don't have to disconnect everything :) And in return you get a beautiful new region free drive ! ;)

I run the patch after booting from a Win ME boot disk and run the patch and it worked, without disconnecting my other drives, I have a CDRW and CD-ROM in the computer
