I've got a Sony 52x CD... not the one currently on the web site picture at Sony but one with a LiteOn appearance.. anyway.. the drive has a fixed speed at 40x and the max speed (52) can only be reached if eject button is holded for at least 5 s, This is very annoing and I want to know if there is any soft/hard/firmware solution to this stpuid problem. The same problem encountered to a Sony 195 40x writer was easily solved by converting the firmware to a LiteOn with MTKFLASH but in this case it seems not t obe working (I guess it's not MediaTek chipset). So..do you have any suggestions?

If mtkflash isn't working, then no, I don't have any other ideas :(

Well I guess is not mediatek chip inside... but that stupid speed limitation, can't be surpassed in no other way? I think more fair thing does ASUS whose 52x drive permit to slow down speed but default setting is 52. Thnx. Still wait for an idea.
