I got it to work, I had to turn on "use as adminstrator" and unblock, then I typed "C:\users\in8\desktop\tsdnwin -nocheck" and it started. I had moved the program from the download file to my desktop. TSDNWIN does not install and the shortcut is the actual file. I got it to flash and now my Drive Region Info V2.2 says I have TSSTcorp CDDVDW SN-S083N SB02 and says this drive has no region. I played a Region 1 DVD and it played fine, then I went to play a UK dvd (Region 2) and it would play on PowerDVD, but it wouldn't play on Media Player and doesn't show up as a disc on the Computer window with the drives and kicks it out if I double click on the drive. I don't know if it might just be the disc or what, I will try a different one. The really weird thing is that it asked be to set my region and said that I can only change 2 more times. I thought that was supposed to not happen after I a flashed the rpc1 firmware.

Thanks cvs. I now can't get my drive to recognize a disc regardless of region. It just shows the drive as empty and then spits it out. I checked the link and now my question is how does one tweak Windows because, that seems to be the problem and there isn't a link in the thread for that. It looks like there should be, but there isn't. PowerDVD seems to work fine regardless, I just want my drive to recognize the disc, so I can open it with dvd shrink if I have to copy the disc because my kids scratched it up.

Also the drive doesn't recognize or autoplay cd's as well. It is weird that PowerDVD will play dvd's but I can't get windows itself to recognize a CD or DVD or autoplay it. It will autoplay a blank dvd though.

Now my computer seems to have righted itself after a windows update. I can now open and burn stuff from DVD shrink and it recognizes cd's and dvd's, and autoplay kicks in again. My PowerDVD still has region switching, so I will get one of the programs listed in the link above. Does anyone have any suggestions for Media Player, or is that a lost cause? But thanks to everyone for their help, I really do appreciate it. I have no idea what all of a sudden changed, but I will take it.

If you install one of the programs mentioned in that FAQ section, that should take care of both the OS and the Media Player software region protections.
