Well first of all, you totaly missed the subforum. Please register in the forum and ask in the DVD-ROM section. But since I am already writing... You need an boot disk. I think that WinME supports creation of a boot diskette. In win9x the location where to create it is in Control Panel->Add/Remove programs->System diskette(something like this)... If you can't do it in WinME. Create it at home on Win9x. If you don't feel like going home :D, and the computer is pretty new. Insert the original Win98 CD in the CD-ROM and go into BIOS. At BASIC BIOS SETTINGS(something like this, the second option from the top) choose as boot CDROM. Reset and the sistem will start from the CDROM. Let me know if this help and if it does I will move this thread to DVD-ROM so the other could see it.

I recently stumbled across this:
http://www.geocities.com/mfd4life_2000/
It looks interesting, but i haven't tested it out yet. The site explains how to "Unhide" the minimum boot option in the startup menu(F8). If anyone has successfully done this, please reply.

I Had the same problem in Windows XP but all you need to do is right click on your floppy drive --> format --> then check the create MS-DOS bootable disk. this should fix it! :)

Sorry to deceive you chrismid75 but unless there is a new feature to create Windows 9x/Me DOS bootdisks in XP, and not NT/2k/XP bootdisks, I think you have to get the bootdisk elsewhere.

However, you can find such bootdisks on my page...
