Hi
I use HP-Compaq6910p laptop which as vista as an OS. Unfortunatley my DVD (Matshita UJ852S) has been locked to Region 2. Need help in the same. I have already tried DVD Fab Decryptor but no luck. I cant see movies from other region. I have downloaded DVD43 and Region Killer but not sure if it will work.
I am following the pots on this forum and found that it can be converted to RPC1.
Pls help.

@ akhiloffline, Welcome to the Forum. There is a very extensive Forum posting concerning Matshita/Matsushita/Panasonic Drives titled “Matshita/Matsushita/Panasonic Drive Owners” ( viewtopic.php?f=12&t=34750) Reviewing the above referenced thread will reveal that….. It is a well known documented fact that Matshita/Matsushita/Panasonic Region Code prohibitions are difficult and most likely are unable to be circumvented. Unfortunately Matshita/Matsushita/Panasonic Region Free (RPC-1) Firmwares are not available and will not become available and also all “Software Solutions” (such as SlySoft’s ‘AnyDVD’) alternatives are also unable to circumvent Matshita/Matsushita/Panasonic Region Code prohibitions. Your alternative is to either live with Matshita/Matsushita/Panasonic Region Code prohibitions or purchase a DVD Drive that Firmware modifications are able to remove Region Code prohibitions. Regards, Coaster

I know for a fact that there is a patch out there for this drive when used on a Mac under OSX. I have no idea if that works with PC's. You can find them when just googling the drive names. Michael

@ michael222,
Since you are so knowledgeable concerning this particular Drive (Matshita UJ852S) would you be gracious and provide a Working Download Link to this particular “Patch” you make reference to in your above Tue Jan 13, 2009 7:08 AM posting ?
Regards, Coaster

I also have a Compaq 6910p with a matshita DVD Uj-852s. I installed DVD43 and I was able to copy me DVDs. There is a conflict with anydvd though, something about vista's great stablity programming. So the short of it is install DVD43 and you should be able to do what you want.

What exactly has that to do with "regionfree"? Nothing so it seems!!

Does this mean that DVD43 can help in by-passing region registry?

I haven't been to this forum for several years and I am a bit rusty at this sort of thing.
Was a solution ever found for this drive? I checked the firmware download page but did not see any RPC-1 firmware available.
My DVD drive has RPC-2 Ver. 1.50 firmware loaded and my laptop is a Toshiba Satellite U300 - 13J. The model number is PSU30E - 03M018G4.
Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
crdshark
