Hello! Unfortunately, I got Matshita BD-combo (UJ-130AS) and lost my possibility to watch the discs from all over the world. I have tried AnyDVD, DVDFab and DVD Ghost and they are helpless. Also I have tried your dump and flash tool and I was successful in dumping only (the tool currently doesn't convert the original firmware from this particular make of the drive into the firmware with multi-regional support). Please, help me to make my drive region-free, I will be very grateful.
1) What kind of firmware you are requiring, RPC1, Bitsetting feature, Official update.
I think, RPC1.

3) Where necessary a link to the original firmware.
I have made the dump of the firmware using your tool and, if necessary, I'm ready to send it to you.
The BD-drive is installed in my Dell Inspiron 1564 laptop with Windows 7 x64.
Thank you!

Chef, thank you for your reply!
I have already red the topics you've suggested and I've found no solution for that particular drive.
Do you mean that it's hardly possible to be an easy task because this is a BD Matshita drive or because this is a BD drive itself?
Do you have an experience of turning an internal laptop BD drive of another manufacturer into a multi-regional drive? If yes, I would rather order a new drive for which there is already firmware modified by your specialists.
Thank you!

Yes, this is a "normal" 12.7 mm slimtype laptop drive with SATA interface and tray-load mechanism. Just in case, I've included the following link which can be used to see the form-factor of the drive: http://cgi.ebay.com/HL-CT21N-6X-Blu-Ray ... 1c1cd14958Please, note that this link represents different model which doesn't relate to this case and I have provided it only as an example of the form-factor of my drive (Matshita UJ-130AS) which we've been discussing.

Chef, thank you for the advice!
I was going to ask some more questions on this variant but I have realized that this is a slot-load drive which is not suitable for me. Could you, please, advise a tray-load slim-type drive which could play BD's and DVD's from all over the world with the aid of AnyDVD HD and/or RPC-1 firmware?
Thank you!

Thank you, Chef!
I have looked at the drives you have recommended. I have noticed that all of them are BD-writers. Am I right concluding that it will be impossible to bypass the regional restrictions on BD-combos? And if yes, why?
Also I see that there is no RPC-1 firmware in the database for each of the BD-drives you have mentioned in your last message. Does it mean that you advise to use one of them with a program like "AnyDVD HD" and it should, probably, be the solution for me?
Thanks again!

That counts for the BD part, I must add. The dvd part is not the issue.

Chef, thank you for the refinement!
May I also ask you isn't it the issue taking into account that there were no firmwares for the above mentioned drives in the database?
Does the BD-drive have 2 firmwares simultaneously: DVD and BD?
