I have been trying to make my Toshiba DVD-ROM SD-M1402 1010 drive region free, but with no success so far. I have downloaded the correct flash program and hex file, but the txt file says to run this in real DOS mode. I am running windows ME and have no option to start in dos mode. What can I do?

Go here to download a boot disk,it will let you boot into real DOS..You should also extract all firmware and flash utility to a disk...Re-boot into *Real DOS,,change disks and run flash from real dos...

Tommy,
I own a Toshiba SD-M1502 DVD-Rom, and the original firmware was 1010. I upgraded that to 1012 (The Firmware Page), but according to DVD drive information and DVD Genie 1.4, my Toshiba isn't region free. By chance do you know of any other firmware I can try? I'll send a Paint Shop Pro snapshot to you via email.
