I have just installed a new LgWH10SL30. The firmware on Diskspeed shows 1.0. I was able to locate the 1.06 update (took a while), upon trying to perform the update it showed that I had the 1.09 firmware, which was the one I was looking for originally. Does the 1.0 that was displayed mean it is 1.0-9? I see where the firmwares are listed that way for Lg, i.e. 1.0-6, 1.0-9. Sorry if this was overlong or not too clear.

Not to be redundant, but how can I confirm my firmware?

Did all of them, still reads 1.00, even after I upgraded to 1.09. I am wondering if the 1.0 is just a standard and does not specify the exact firmware.

I have tried all these progs and it still says 1.00, so if I understand well I will have to rely that the update has been done even I can't verify it through a prog, right?

You updated with the firmware, so what is your problem? Just accept it and try again, the updater will tell you its already latest!!

I am sorry if I got you mad, it wasn't my intension to do that. When I re-updated it didn't told me that it is already updated and it made again the update... that was the reason that I searched through all these progs to verify the firmware but I couldn't cause all says 1.00...

Is the new firmware your talking about this? http://www.lge.co.kr/upload/SW_PDS/BH10LS30_1.00-09.zipWill there ever be a firmware that will allow scans of media? I've also seen somewhere on the LG site that the 10x drives are discontinued for the next models, primarily 12x burners. They probably won't see retail discontinuance until 2012 at the earliest as retail is slow call old products discontinued when they have a LARGE stock of them in supply. Has anyone tested the new write strategy in the lastest firmware by scanning a written disc, then made comparisons?

Has anyone tested the new write strategy in the lastest firmware by scanning a written disc, then made comparisons? That firmware in your link is technically speaking for the BH10LS30 ... if you want the equivalent 1.00-09 firmware for the WH10LS30 (technically speaking both 1.00-09 firmwares identify themselves internally as 1.00-A9 not as 1.00-09), then you can download it from here: http://www.lgsolutions.com/products/dig ... -downloadsor if you prefer a direct link from here: http://www.lgsolutions.com/__downloads/ ... 100830.zipThe two firmwares (BH vs WH) are almost the same, the only difference is a few bytes accounting for the name change and the CRC bits. The latest firmware works quite nicely as far as I tried it and I haven't heard anyone complaining about any bugs/issues related with it, so it is safe to update your drive.
