I hope this is the right area to request the firmware ???

The output from DiscInfo is
Vendor: MATSHITA
Model: DVD-RAM UJ-846S
Firmware: F102
RPC-2 (region locked)
State is SET
4 vendor resets left
4 region changes left
Region 4
I have a Macintosh PPC G4 running OSX 10.4.11. It is a 1.5GHZ PPC G4
I don't have any links to the original firmware, and I have looked to see if there is anything else on this forum, but not the firmware my drive has which is a dual layer drive. There is something similar, but due to the fragile nature of these programs, I'm loathe to try it unless otherwise advised.
Thanking you ..

Well, as I said before I must be old and stupid because I can't find anything about UJ-846S with F102 firmware. Only samsung F102.
I cannot understand what I'm doing wrong here.
C'est le vie, and I'll take the easy way out and buy another drive.
