No, the package contains a flasher.

ive already updated my superdrive using the official flasher but now it jus keeps spitting out the disc. that's why i need a dump from a working UJ-868 KB19 drive.

yes
Code:
MATSHITA DVD-R   UJ-868:

  Firmware Revision:   KB19
  Interconnect:   ATAPI
Burn Support:   Yes (Apple Shipping Drive)
  Cache:   2048 KB
  Reads DVD:   Yes
  CD-Write:   -R, -RW
  DVD-Write:   -R, -R DL, -RW, +R, +R DL, +RW
  Write Strategies:   CD-TAO, CD-SAO, DVD-DAO
Media:   To show the available burn speeds, insert a disc and choose View > Refresh

It's either i can get hold of a dump from a working UJ868 KB19 drive
or
A dump from a working drive with firmware revision KA19

You can not directly flash a dump file. The data needs to be converted. You will find a flashable KB19 in your PM in a minute, so you can try if flashing with simpleflash solves the problem, but I doubt that.

ala42 : I just sent you a pm with a UJ-867 dump I did for Ben11. He disappeared about the time I sent him it! Maybe you can do something with it.

Ordinarily I'd love to but I no longer have access to that particular mbp. I'm back to using my uj857 mbp again :(

I'm in the same situation after updating the original Apple firmware. Can I have too a flashable KB19 to be used with simpleflash?
Thanks!

Again, this is no "normal" request thread.

Please read and follow the first post in this thread precisely...
There is also a PM feature available in this forum.
