I have an LG GGC-H20L with factory 1.03 firmware. The readme on this site is titled, GGC-H20L Version 1.03 Firmware Update but says "for drives with original firmware versions below 1.02" Please explain. Not sure I understand. Will this work for me?

Also, the readme refers to IDE, but this is a SATA drive. Please explain.

Trying to make this region free for my popcorn hour box.

It the the official LG firmware having the official readme file and the official bugs and errors in the text. Just ignore the readme file.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I'm new to this forum. Is the LG GGC-H20L firmware posted at the link below the original factory firmware or updated region-free replacement firmware. If the former, is the latter available?

I'm just trying to make my reader compatible with legitimate imported foreign language DVDs (and later BDs) that are unavailable in the US. Thanks.

My drive, GGC H20L, is already listed on the Request Rules page under "Riplock and RPC1, RPC2 autoreset / Supported DVD writers", but I haven't been able to find a link to the region-free firmware. Any idea where it is? Thanks.
