Okay, So I have a Power Mac G5 OSX 10.4.11 that I bought a bunch of years ago. It has a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-110D drive inside it. It has been working perfectly fine and then one day I put a CD in it and it just kept spinning and wouldn't stop. I thought it might have gotten stuck and walked away for about 10 minutes to let it finish. I came back and it was still spinning like crazy. I couldn't make it stop, so I forced the computer off and turned it back on. It worked fine then. 2 days later, the same thing happened, except that when I turned it back on, it did the same thing, kept spinning. I turned it off, forced the drive open with a paperclip and pulled out the CD. I started back up and tried once more. This time, no spinning at all. No mounting, nothing. It has been that way ever since. I have put in every kind of disc I could, and nothing worked.

I thought I would try the DVRFlash V2.2 for it but I'm not understanding how to make it work. I'm not a person who uses the Terminal, so I am completely lost. What I get is something that says what device I have and then that it can't do anymore and I have to run DVRFlash again putting the device as the first parameter. I am so way over my head right now. Any help for someone without much experience?

we always suggest if you want to update and you have no knowledge, to follow this tutorial

Quote:
To keep things as simple as possible, DVRFlash and the firmware file(s) should be side by side in the same folder, whatever it's name or position.
So, put DVRFlash and the firmware file{s) in one folder and have that folder's Finder window open.
Start "Terminal". (Double click Terminal's icon, do NOT double click DVRFlash!)
From the Finder window, drag DVRFlash into the terminal window. The complete path to DVRFlash will appear, followed by a space.
Now type "-f PIONEER " without the quotes; mind the spaces before and behind PIONEER.
Drag the firmware file into the terminal window. If you got two files (firmware and kernel), drag them both, one after the other. The path(s) to the firmware file(s) will appear in the term window.
(That way you created a command line with complete pathes, that works, no matter where all your files are.)
NOW press the Return key to start it all and it should work

Okay. That seems easy enough. Where do I find the Firmware files? All there was in the download was DVRFlash and some txt documents.
