Thanks a lot -v makes DVRFlash scan for pioneer drives, and bring back the drives information, -f is simply the command used for flashing the firmware to the drive, -ff is to force flash, or crossflash

Hello,
I tried
DVRFlash -f D: S0416431_speedpatched.107
but it says drive is in normal mode. If you want to convert your drive, you need to supply both Kernel and General.
Thanks for your help.

Pioneer DVR-217D, SATA. Comes with 1.06 firmware.
Is that the info you needed? Or do I need to check it with some specific utility.
Thanks a lot

Could someone please explain what the bitsetting option in MCSE actually does? AFAIK DVD+R DL Discs are automatically set to DVD-Rom in all recent Pioneer Drives anyway. So is this for single layer dics? And what does it actually do? Even after (cross)flashing my 217 with a MCSE RPC1+Bitset modified Firmware, there is no option in IMGBURN to specify bitsetting for Pioneer. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I haven't found the answer to this and would really love to be enlightened!

it is for DVD+R only (SL), there will never be a setting to change, its done automatically if you use the patch, and even without the patch, there would be no setting, as pioneer don't support it officially

Apparently v1.08 exists for some time too, and Pioneer even released the media support list for it: http://wwwbsc.pioneer.co.jp/product-e/i ... _FW108.pdfHowever, in their supreme cleverness, they 'forgot' to release the actual firmware ...

HELP! I am trying to bitset a customized Pioneer firmware. I've located the byte and the checksums in the standard firmware (using MCSE) but I haven't been able to figure out how to calc the checksums...can someone help me out? Just need to know what type of checksums these are? Best.

Thanks. I downloaded the 1-08 zip file which includes two files S0015430.108 and S0015431.108
Used MSCE´s and got S0015431_speedpatched.108
What´s wrong with doing DVRFlash -ff G: S0015430.108 S0015431_speedpatched.108 ?
Thanks for your help

what 1.08 zip file are you refering too? as all the links are official and don't come with a kernel file. On your point, DVRFlash is not file name specific, so you can use whatever name you want. but normally keeping it simple is better. Only the crossflash files in that section can be used with that particular drive. In case you have simply downloaded a kernel and renamed it. it will brick the drive. I take it also you mean 117, not 107 in your postings? yescool2002 wrote: Thanks. I downloaded the 1-08 zip file which includes two files S0015430.108 and S0015431.108
