Hi,

I bought an aftermarket CW-8122 for my PowerBook G3(Pismo). The original drive had stopped working. It has RPC-2 firmware BF30. There is a RPC-1 firmware that work on the CW-8122.

The firware flashers will only work with specific models

Is there a way of modifying the firmware application so they will run on the Pismo.

Hi,

A solution was found. I got Vincent from http://www.powerbook-fr.com/dossiers/dv ... cle30.html to modify one of the RPC-1 firmware patchers to run on the Pismo.

My new optical drive is now region free.
