Also you may want to consider buying a small pack first to test the burning speed versus buying 50 first. I buy no name and I get great speeds on DL burning or any type disc burning. Some may say those discs won't work after 3-4 years so I just popped a few into my Pioneer 116D and a 111D both flashed to regionfree and they were burned 3-4 years ago on a 108D, I think, and they still work. Everyone will have a different opinion on this and a varied experience.

Which one do you buy? You really test them afterwards??

I live in Japan so we have a ton of no name brands here all made for brand name companies in the US. They are imported from Korea , HK or China. No I don't test them often I just did in this instance so anyone wanting to know if they last a long time can be assured they do. I have actually never had one which was burned and went bad and they usually burn faster than listed on the package with the flashed firmware so I am extremely satisfied. I just wanted to offer this guy another opinion on buying Verbatim only. I really can't give you names chef they constantly change. I always look for the cheapest nameless brand my local store has at the time I buy. I think the last time I bought 16x DVDRs they were ~$25 for 100 disks. You can't get much cheaper than that and living in Japan that is an exceptional bargain. The DL are more expensive of course and I don't really use that many of them so I can't give you a price but it is still cheap

yeah i agree really, if your using DVD+/-R then some lesser media names, can do a decent job, i know alot of people slate cmc mag media, but i burn them all the time on pioneer's, and never really had an issue, DL i think is a little different

thanks guys. for my purposes, I really only use DL. I have a ton of DVD movies and I always burn a backup copy (paranoid, I know), and I also do this for most of my friends and family. And, single layer just doesn't cut it. I don't want to lose quality by compressing.
