The newest firmware download for the 117 series designates "117F". Will this, and/or the firmware, _not_ work with the 117D? I have had no luck so far. Thanks!

you can crossflash using -ff paramater, this firmware will give you labelflash and also DVDRAM burning, over that of the 117D

After eight gazillion tries with DVRFlash 2.7.2 on my Intel Mac Pro (booted into Windows XP), I am unable to cross-flash my DVR-117D. I am quite sure I am using the proper terminal command:

DVRFlash.exe -ff E: A0016000.107 A0016001.107
or:
DVRFlash.exe -ff E: PIONEER A0016000.107 A0016001.107

I keep getting this error: "Can't open firmware file A0016000.107." Why would this be? I am using the same versions downloaded from the post above. I've tried both the -f and the -ff commands and get the same error, and I had no problem flashing my DVR-112 months ago using the same method. Thoughts?

Because the flasher CANNOT find the file... you have not given the correct path.

The firmware files are in the same folder as the flasher. What am I doing incorrectly?

Sorry - the extra period wasn't there.

Originally I had the firmware and DVRFlash inside a unique folder and the path reflected that. Then I moved the three files to the desktop and did it again, and got the exact same error. Screen shot of the command window is attached. I've tried "D: PIONEER [firmware names]", "D: [firmware names]" and various other combinations. I am puzzled.

Your current working directory is not the directory where you stored the files. You use the path 'Desktop' to call DVRFlash, but you do not use it for the firmwares. That can not work.

Sorry, can you be more specific? I originally had a folder which _only_ had DVRFlash and the two firmware files in it, and the command prompts I gave reflected that, and gave me the same error. So I moved all three files to the desktop, sans folder, and tried again - and you can see that the error is the same.

Are you suggesting that the firmware files must be on a different path from DVRFlash? Sorry if this seems ignorant, but I can't quite get your suggestion here.

When you open the command window, use the cd command to enter the drirectory where you stored the files. E.g.
make a directory c:\flash
copy dvrflash and the firmware files to this directory
open a cmd window
enter the command cd c:\flash
enter the command dir
if you see the dvrflash and the firmware files listed, the dvrflash command line will work.

That is the point i always repeat.... navigate to the correct folder, THEN try flashing.

I see what I was doing wrong, and I have successfully flashed the DVR-112D to F, and made it region-free by patching the firmware.

Is there a place I can upload my patched firmware so others could potentially use it without going to the trouble of using MCSE to do it themselves?

no, we don't allow members to post patched firmware from MCSE, after all, they can patch it themselves

version 2.7.3 has been released by agent smith, this addresses the bug with crossflashing the 217F>217L, and other related 117/217 issues

Any chance of adding support for the BDC-TD01 & BDR-TD01 drives in the near future?
Kernels are available for both of these drives.

It would be rather nice to be able to flash my BDC-TD01RS 1.01 to the latest 1.03 SONY OEM firmware

Thanks!

have to explain what you did. Drive you have, what you flashed to it. without this, we cannot even begin to know.
