no, there is no way to recover the firmware from the drive, do you know what the firmware revision was before you flashed it?

who is the manufacturer of your system? it sounds like you have just flashed any old firmware to it, instead of a specific one, post the discinfo output, and also the manufacturer

you have flashed the correct firmware to the drive, check in device manager under ata/atapi controllers, make sure its running in DMA mode

without knowing what firmware you had previously, your stuck, i would suspect, it was the original shipping firmware, which wouldn't be available anyway

Assuming his Original version was: HQ02 and that version exists in the website here.
the installer will not agree to perform a "Downgrade" by just installing the older version to the drive.

I have tried this with Pioneer 215D upgraded from 1.18 to 1.22 and wanted to go back, and there was no way back. once you upgrade you can't downgrade using the installer as-is.

If you may give me the code, so I would change it to allow downgrades, I'm be thankful to you!

Alex

just because pioneer stops downgrading, doesn't mean every other manufacturer does, if it was a shipped firmware, it ain't available, and if it was on our site, we would of already given it to him

on LG drives there is away to backup original firmware. and there is a way to check what it originally was..

first eject the tray from your cdrom drive. while its ejected turn off the computer..

there will be one scr3w on the bottem of your laptop that holds the cdrom drive in.. take out that scr3w and gently pull the drive out via the tray..

the drive will have the original revision on it..

second then you need is the original firmware and since you flashed over it we will need to find someone else with this drive to get it..
they will need to run the program from this site to back it up.. The firmware is dumped in the manner that allows even the original flasher to use it.
the program will also let you flash your drive, does not matter if upgrading or downgrading.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/flasher/files/

if you want to run the gtk version goto
http://gtk-win.sourceforge.net/home/ind ... /Downloads

and install the runtime package..
