What exactly are you looking for?

Doh, I guess I left that part out. Firmware for UJDA330.

But which one is currently on the drive?

Hi Chef, sorry for the delay responding, I'm working on a new build which is taking all of my home computing time except when I get to where I need to burn a CD :( Version 1.05 is installed on this UJDA330. I knew the firmware was old, like original, but Nero Info Tool says it's dated 10-42-30.

No new drive/computer will come unlocked, to be honest.
Matshita is a special case, please check our FAQ.

Hi,

I have Mashita DVD-RAM UJ-681H. Is there a region free firmware? If yes, where can I get it? Unfortunately the links to the download list on the first page of this topic seem to be broken.

Thanks in Advance!

@ bankrupty,

Welcome to the Forum.

Suggest reviewing the Request Rules (viewtopic.php?f=12&t=38756) prior to posting your request.

Also what LapTop/Note Book Computer Manufacture Name and Model Number is your MATSHITA UJDA755YDVD Drive installed in?

Regards,
Coaster

Thanx for welcome

The computer is an IBM ThinkPad T42 Type 2373

Because of my bad english I try to specifies my question:
Is there any newer Firmware available for my drive?
And if yes, where can I find it, because the links I have found still opened a clean window

@ bankrupty,

Once again suggest ‘Closely’ reviewing the “Request Rules” (viewtopic.php?f=12&t=38756).

Have you visited the IBM ThinkPad T42 Type 2373 Web Site and searched there for Firmware for your Matshita UJDA755Y Drive?

If there is no Matshita UJDA755Y Firmware available at the IBM ThinkPad T42 Type 2373 Web Site then there is no Firmware available for your Drive.

Also suggest ‘Closely’ reviewing the “Matshita / Matsushita / Panasonic drive owners” (viewtopic.php?f=12&t=34750) thread. In reviewing the “Matshita / Matsushita / Panasonic drive owners” thread you will see that ->

It is a well known documented fact that Matshita / Matsushita / Panasonic Region Code prohibitions are difficult and most likely are unable to be circumvented.

Unfortunately Matshita / Matsushita / Panasonic Region Free (RPC-1) Firmwares are not available and will not become available and also all “Software Solutions” (such as SlySoft’s ‘AnyDVD’) alternatives are also unable to circumvent Matshita / Matsushita / Panasonic Region Code prohibitions.

Your alternative is to either live with Matshita / Matsushita / Panasonic Region Code prohibitions or purchase a DVD Drive that Firmware modifications are able to remove Region Code prohibitions.

Regards,
Coaster

yet another Mats drive to add to the list :-(

In a Sony FW21Z laptop
BD-MLT UJ230AS Blu ray read/write drive
Region coded, need (as everyone else) a firmwear to make it region free or to turn back the changes data.
I know nothing is available, but I thought I would add the drive to the mats list

This will not work and unless a firmware is released nothing can be done.
Do you understand how RPC1 works?

Did you understand my posting?
I am acutely aware of this, and have put the "request" in so as to allow anyone who eventually does find a way aropund the problem will have a complete list.

You must be kidding.
From your post I must assume that you doent understand how RPC1 firmware works.

@ flokos,

What leads you to believe that your Matshita UJ-845S Optical Drive “cant write anything now only to read” problem is a Firmware problem?

Explain in detail.

Coaster

Have discovered RPC1 firmware updated listed on this site for Matshita SR-8176. Have an SR-8177 fitted to ThinkPad. Understanding firmware compatibility a complex issue, but any opinions as to the possibility that 8176 firmware would run successfully in 8177 for region free..

are the cd's original bought one's, or are you on about backed up one's, the mp3's could be because it was burnt on a different drive, these matshita drives are notorious
