I have a lite-on SOSC-2483K slimtype combo drive for my laptop. There is a firmware update for the SOSC-2483KX which is the external version of this drive but need a patched flasher to work for my drive i guess. Can anyone help?

Why do you think that update would be necesary and suitable for your drive?

I bought a used laptop and it has only been able to read 1 out of like 10 dvds. I read here http://club.cdfreaks.com/f44/sosc-2483k-134796/ that this patched flasher exists and fixes the error but the uploaded file no longer exists.

I am having the same problem, also need the patch, because the Liteon site doesn't support SOSC-2483K, which i think is really dumb.
