Post an DVRFlash -v X: output.
Replace X with the correct driveletter.

What did you do so far?

Hi to all Firmware gurus, i am happy to find this great resource for OSX region free DVD drives

I am having troubles to get my US made Power Mac OSX (pioneer DVR-105)
to play European DVD's ( i live in Europe)
I dont want to change the region from 1 to 2 .... just want to make it Region Free
So i tried to make my DVR 105 region free by running DVRFlashX - Apple 105-1 version 1.0.2
It looked like it worked , BUT after restarting my Mac and inserting same Region 2 DVD
i still get "Current Drive Setting :Region Code 1 you can change code 5 more times" :(:(

So i tried to run DVRFlash_v2.6.0 via terminal as posted above
here is the info in terminal that i got:
Quote:
Commandline:
/Users/admin/Desktop/DVRFlash_v2.6.0/DVRFlash_2.6.0/dvrflash_mac/DVRFlash

Device parameter was not given, detecting all DVR drives:

Device : A:
Vendor : PIONEER
Model : DVD-RW DVR-105
Revision : A506

Status : RPC-1 (region free)

Now run DVRFlash again, from the command prompt, using
one of the device(s) listed above as first parameter

Press the Return key to exit
Commandline:
/Users/admin/Desktop/DVRFlash_v2.6.0/DVRFlash_2.6.0/dvrflash_mac/DVRFlash -v A:

Drive Information:
Description : PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-105
Firmware Rev : A506
Firmware Date : 02/12/24
Manufacturer : PIONEER
Drive is in normal mode.

Additional Drive Information:
Serial Number :
Interface type : ATA
DVR generation : 0004
Kernel type : APPLE
Normal type : APPLE
Kernel version : 0004

Status : RPC-1 (region free)

it says my DVD drive Status: RPC-1 region free i am totally confused, don't know what i am doing wrong, is my DVD Drive region free now or not? :(

Thanks in advance for your help, i am a newbe to terminal... ;)

I worked out :) i could change the region from 1 to 2 with Region X !
And it played DVD very fine.
.......Though in the choosing region dialog there were choices 1.2.3.4.5 times remaining
and the 4 was preselected.... does it mean that i only have 4 times left or
will i be able change every time i run Region X?

as long as your drive is RPC1 and you have Region X running, you can change how many times you like
