I just flashed my ASUS E616P3 DVD-R to a newer version (1.05 to 1.07) obtained from ASUSs' website. but after the flash, it said "Upgrade successful" but that crazy thing stopped working .... Just powering it up with no IDE connector even, keeps the indication LED on. it does not respond to eject button anymore...

any clues on how to revert it bak or anything that wud make it work .

and yeah... trying asus support too but it usually sucks

Did you hold the eject button before powering on and for about 10 seconds??
