But I am still kinda confused about 2 questions: 1) The auto-reset stuff only works in Windows and gets the region code and times-left reset to the condition you started your Windows this time and since via VMWare virtual machine the firmware update is banned , it which sadly leads to the result that if i changed my region code in Mac OS X and then reboot my computer into windows, the region code would be already changed and the auto-reset will actually do nothing to change things back. 2) I've found out that VLC player for Mac OS X can no longer access the data as it was mentioned before and there's no solution under OS X now for me. Thanks a lot by the way for being so patient..

Change the region as you would with an unpatched RPC2 drive. The firmware autoreset patch takes care that the drive does not remember these changes, so after the next reboot the drive is as it was before the change. In case your Mac does not reset the drive while rebooting, power the drive off/on to get the old state.

Could you provide an firmware auto-reset which could be used in OS X leopard . Thanks. The dvd is LG GSA-S10N AP12

But my problem is that I need an auto reset programme which can be ran in OS X rather than in Windows. The .exe file I got did work in Windows but it would not solve my problem since I only use leopard to wath DVD and thus would need to change region code.

Puma wrote: yes, you apply the patched firmware in a windows environment, then use it within OS X Leopard, are you saying that the function does not work within the leopard operating system? no it won't work. let's say that my region now is 1 with 3 change time left and i am using leopard to watch a region 2 dvd . I change my region code to 2 and the change time left would be only 2. After watching the dvd, i reboot my computer into windows xp . at this time running the auto reset stuff will not do anything because after applying it and rebooting the computer, the region code would still be 2 will 2 change times left. The only condition in which the auto reset patch would work is that i use windows to watch my dvd and change my region code under the windows condition. after watching it, run the patch and reboot the computer. Thus, it seems that there's no such a way that would help me "auto reset" if I would change my region code in leopard rather than in windows.
