When crossflashing, if a new firmware revision for that drive comes out, are we able to use the official firmware updater now that the drive "thinks" that it's a better drive than it originally was? I.e if we crossflash from 116D to A16 using DVRflash, can we then use the official A16 firmware updater from Pioneer to upgrade to newer firmwares should they become available?

Hi all I successfully crossflashed my DVR-216D to DVR-216L but I have a question. Is it possible to come back to DVR-216D? If it's possible, how to do it? Thanks a lot ^^

hey guys.
might be a stupid question but,
you can you cross flash the 216d to s16j? im assuming you can,
what are the pros/cons for doing this?? (Adds LabelFlash,Bitsetting,DVDRam Burning) any down sides?
thanks.

thanks. yes this is correct, the pro's are as you listed, the only downside, is at the moment, you cannot crossflash back to the 216D

whi can't i set booktype dvd-rom to DVD+rw on A16 and S16J ?
I own both, a 116d flashed to A16 and a 216d flashed to s16j i tried to burn a dvd+rw to play it in my dvd player but with no success
booktype doesnt change from dvd+rw (checked with dvdinfopro and nero speed disc)
there is a solution for that? Will ever be a patch available to do that ? (like in mediacodespeededit) ?
thanks for info

@ supertommy, Pioneer DVD Burners do not and will not Book Type Bit Set DVD+RW Media to DVD-ROM because Pioneer design engineers known that attempting to Book Type Bit Set DVD+RW Media to DVD-ROM is TOTALY problematic and causes numerous compatibility issues. It should be noted that the DVD Forum’s (DVD Consortium) Official “DVD Format Specifications” do not include Book Type Bit Setting of DVD+RW Media. You do not need to use any Third Party Software Program such as DVDInfo and/or Nero CD/DVD Speed to “Set” the Book Type of DVD+R DL Media to DVD-ROM with Pioneer DVR-116D/216D DVD Burners. Official Pioneer DVR-116D/216D Firmware automatically (no user intervention required) Bit Sets DVD+R DL Media to Book Type DVR-ROM during the Burning evolution processes. If you desire automatic Bit Setting of DVD+R SL Media to Book Type DVR-ROM suggest using the Media Code Speed Edit tool to “enable bitsetting” patch to the Pioneer Firmware and “allow same to same flashing” patch to the Pioneer Flasher. Below is Link to Media Code Speed Edit tool Home Page -> http://ala42.cdfreaks.com/MCSEAlso suggest reviewing the Media Code Speed Edit tool “Pioneer” thread at CD Freaks dedicated Pioneer DVD Forum for additional information -> http://club.cdfreaks.com/f87/mediacodes ... rs-153213/Regards, Coaster

Hi, I love your work with these firmwares. Quick question: I heard all Pioneer drives have bit-setting that automatically kicks in when you burn an appropriate disc. If I enable bit-setting in MSCE and flash it on my drive, what will happen?

@ someguyfromhell,
If you had viewed my Tue Oct 07, 2008 3:02 PM posting 4 postings above you original posting in this thread you would have been able to read exactly how Pioneer Biting Setting works and been provided with Web Links to Software to enable automatic Bit Setting of DVD+R SL Media.
Regards, Coaster

Hi all!
I am a newie around here, so might happen, I missed the correct topic. I have a little tiny problem with my Pio 112DBK. A bought some new discs today, some Verbatim (Doing great) and some blank DL-s. If this helps you, to indentify the discs: RICOHJPN-D01-67 . I started to write out a 7.75 GB data pack with DVD Decrypter, but when it reached 47 percent, it failed. I thought it can be, cause my dvds firmware is just not up to date. A downloaded this: R12LOIN_speedpatched.exe (Found a rapidshare link somewhere here at rpc1. When I try to flash it, this is shown: "Available target is not found". In deamon tools, I sat the device number for 0. I tried the original Pioneer dvd patcher, but then I got this: "Hardware revision is not matched." Oh, by the way. I've got Vista. If it means something... I'm a bit sad because of this. Hope you guys know the solution...
Thank You!
Andrew

Quote: Daemon tools would uninstall this personally, make sure you have the latest firmware, which is posted in the above post, if you have 112D, then use the link provided, or use DVRFlash and the 1.24 firmware, remember to run it through MCSE, if you want RPC1,etc
