after i flashed my w163A with the TS02, it couldn't read any CDs/DVDs anymore.
flashing back on TS01 didn't help either.
i already deleted upper and lower filter in the registry.
System:
Windows XP Service Pack2
Motherboard: Asus P5b
Processor: Core2 Duo E6550 2mal 2.33 GHz
RAM: 2x 1024 MB
DVD-Laufwerk: Samsung SH-W163A (S-ata)

thanks in advance unistall everything under ata/atapi controllers in device manager and restart

it still doesn't work.
winxp identifies the w163a, it just can't read the CDs.

this couldn't solve my problem  it can't read anything, dvds and cds. everything i put in. but windows detects it. discinfo also shows all infos.

yup, since i flashed the firmware on my drive. before that, i could burn a lot  the firmware was TS01, and i tried to flash it to TS02. edit: oh, and i can eject and load the w163A via windows or programs like imgburn.

both don't work. in safemode, nothing happens when i double click the drive.
