I am having a Packard Bell Easynote Laptop and the DVD-RW drive not reading any DVD movies. It is possible to boot from DVD and can read data DVDs. When I insert the DVDs i can hear the spinning sound, but DVD is not loading at all.
Slimtype DVD-RW SOSW 833S and firmware version is V9S9 (NEC 6750)
Please help

Can u explain what u mean by disc info? Firmware version is V9S2 and according to packard bell support website the drive is NEC ND 6750 and that's all I know about it. There is Nero image but I have tried uninstalling it and tried, but no use. Region code is set to 5 and remains 4 chances to change. There are no any softwares installed to change the region code except the cyberlink power dvd.

I would first start by unistalling everything in device manager, under ata/atapi controllers and restart and try.

After running the discinfo I got the following error, "ASPI driver not or improperly installed". Before that I have uninstalled everything according to your instructions, but still problem remains.
Regarding the Drive I have mentioned, in the device manager under the DVD/CD-ROM Drives it is mentioned Slimtype DVDRW SOSW-833S, but while contacting the Packard Bell support after entering the serial no of my laptop I got the information that it is NECND 6750.
Thanks

Then why the Packard Bell support says it as NEC! Yeah, I bought the laptop one year back.
Anyhow I will try your instructions. I hope that will work fine!
Thanks
