I have a Toshiba XM 5602B with FW 1796. it's a old one I know. Do you have anybody a newer FW for this CD ROM? I can't find any, I agree with you Poverty, Toshiba's support level is very poor.

I have a Toshiba XM-1402B laptop CD-ROM drive & need updated firmware for it. Booting off the CD-ROM drive directly even though my Toshiba Satellite 205CDS supports it is currently broken. I have to use a SBM boot floppy to boot off the CD-ROM drive. I also have a Toshiba XM-6002 CD-ROM drive which needs newer firmware than what it currently has.

Come on guys - what do you expect from Toshiba? These drives are more than 10 years old. Its not possible to update the firmware without a eprom change!
