Hi everybody,

When I look the GGC-H20L firmware with the excellent software of Ala42 (MSCE 1.1.0.18)
I look (and I'm not the one) that there is BD-R write speed.

Does the GGC is blocked by the firmware :?:

Thanks for your answer.

I want to inject the firmware GGW in the GGC, because after analysis, not too many differences.
I search many methods.

With the Ala42's software, I found a solution.

I test it !

unless your 100% about both these drives hardware, and altering the flashers, then leave it be

AFAIK GGC and GGW drives use a different pick up. Writing BD probably needs a stronger laser. GGC and GGW drives use a different boot code, so cross flashing is a bit harder than usual. In this case I do not expect any benefit from a crossflash, just a high risk to kill the drive. But well, I might be wrong.

Generally, manufacturers produce the same product, but limits on software. For the cost.
That is why their flasher is well protected (unlike the NEC 2500 and 2500A).
I might be wrong too !

As long as the pick ups are not the same, the same pcb does not help.

Logically, my GGC can write BDR, but I'm not BDR for test. :(
But not sure, DVDInfo say just BDR.

Yes, but I unlock the write BDR protection (I think)

I use your software (omnipatcher) and I access to the memory of this. I can see the firmware's functions.
I can modify which burner can be updated, the fw number, the name of burner...

And with my last test, I have unlock burning function.

ATTENTION: I use this with all risk for my burner.

Not sure, I just change the drive in GGW, I have a check on BDR. But I don't know if I can burn a BDR.

Post a screenshot of the nero infotool 5 drive tab, like the one you find here in the middle of the page.
