Sort of, the original firmware can be flashed to the 62L drive unaltered (he just downloaded it and it will flash), my friend just did it. What LG should have done is when you try to flash the 62N firmware to a 62L drive it should say no drive found. Maybe they never thought of it happening. Thanks for the replying.

He used the GSAH62N_CL01-T0.exe from the german LG site and it allowed to flash a H62L without patching it with MCSE first ? The part MCSE patches to allow this crossflash looks like that crossflashing is prevented in this flasher.

Yes it can flash the 62L without patching. Well he did try to save the drive id as 62L in MCSE but it doesn't work, it's still a 62N when it flashes. I don't think there will be a native 62L firmware (no request just speculating) i don't know why but LG isn't exactly speedy with any firmware updates for most drives.

Works fine for GSAH55L_1.03.exe how at cdfreas thread written. Thanks.
But for new Version GSAH55L_1.05.exe the RPC1 patch isn't enablet?
Have I to wait for a new MCSE version?

please help, i need tutorial for MCSE
I'm currently running the RPC1 firmware (1.15) on my pioneer drive (212D). I would like to update to the official 1.22 firmware. When I try running the official updater I get the following messages:
Code:
The firmware of the target drive is not the correct F/W
This firmware is not supported by this program
Any idea how I upgrade this drive from it's current firmware?
in other post I see this:
[You need to use MediaCodeSpeedEdit tool ( http://ala42.cdfreaks.com/MCSE) and patch both the Offical Pionner DVR-122D v1.22 Flasher and Firmware.]
I do not know as to use this MCSE, somebody it can give a one tutorial? sorry my English

Very nice, ala42!
One question I may ask, what is behind " - added read only support for LG GGC-H20N/L and LG GGW-H20N/L, including BD media support " ?
Is it just to readout the MID info from the firmwares? Thanks.

Hey guys,
After flashing to 1.21 / 1.22 / 1.24 on my DVR-212D and using MediaCodeSpeedEdit 1.1.0.14 to enable bit settings - I am still unable to change it (using nero 7.10) to DVD-ROM, even that it said to support it.
I don't know if that's how it suppose to work but - on all firmware versions - when I press the RPC1 it is becoming gray and unable to switch back - and the same goes to the exe file check box thingy
Saving and flashing is successful
Need HELP PLEASE - Desperately
Thx

Arrrghhh - can you please post it in one Forum only?
There is no need to triplicate your post!
I deleted the other once...
Anyway - welcome to RPC1!

thread merged with MCSE thread, there is nothing to change for the bitsetting, once you apply the patch and flash it to the drive, its done automatically, nero will never give you the option anyway, as pioneer doesn't officially support bitsetting

That is normal. The checkboxes are greyed out because it is not implemented to undo the patch.
