As far as I know, this does not affect Vista...

I did the usual Windows Update (approx 12MEG) for this month but have since been informed that this is a VITAL update for XP.

M$ have plugged a problem that afflicts a mission critical DLL that is used by 3rd Party software as well as M$ software (meaning that ANY Browser etc. might be vulnerable).

Apparently, amongst known malicious attacks already out there in the wild are attacks against Firefox & Adobe Reader.

Adobe have already posted a fix (v8.1.1) but M$ addresses the problem as a low level system wide fix.

Make sure you update!!!
