Lite-On 24102b Help Needed

Hello everyone, I'm new to the Firmware page, and I was wondering if someone could help. (Again, I apologize if this post is in the incorrect forum.) Now I have the Lite-On 24102b 5S5A, and my boyfriend told me it is a DVD burner, but I put in a blank DVD and nothing happens. Perhaps he is wrong?

P.S. I checked on the Sony website, and there was no information provided.
P.P.S. I can't seem to find any info on my computer either. (Perhaps I'm a little blind or dumb?)

hi welocme to the forum, lol not to start a domestic, your boyfriend is wrong, the drive you have is a CD-RW drive only, its a liteon drive, and is nothing to do with sony, its a pretty old burner

It appears from the date of the CDRInfo review that your LiteOn LTR-24102B CD-RW is rather old CD-RW drive (manufactured in the 2002 timeframe).

Unfortunately you failed to provide any information on your particular Computer. Perhaps if you provided the Name/Model Number of your Computer possibly Forum Members might be able to locate a Web review on your particular Computer.

I can confirm that this model is a CD-RW drive.

I didn't think anyone has LTR-24102B units anymore. That's the old skool 24x CDRW that benched marked to be better than the Plextor 24x CDRW way back in like 2001.
