I've found the new firmware 1.04 for Matshita UJ-210S but on my notebook Acer Travelmate 8215 WLHi i can't upgrade because it told me tha I have not the right Hardware.

It told me..
"F/W Loader does not apply to the DVD/CD-RW drive that you are using."

In the H/W manager i saw exactly Matshita UJ-210S drive but all the firmware 1.04 or early that i've found is for Sony Vaio Laptop.

Does Anyone help me to force the upgrade ?

Best Regards

Mark

cannot use it, and its not advisable to have someone alter it to force flash it, unless you want a dead drive

as you can see the model is an oem sony, that's why we're tryng to flash new sony firmware on it.
but the flash program pops up the error.
firmware of this drive is old, and i've read on many blueray issue posts, to increase compatibility/stability of blueray disks burnt, newest firmware is required.

i hope some1 can solve our problem.
thanx for the help

That is why you should contact ACER about it, because your Laptop is ACER, so the support is up to ACER and not SONY or Matshita. :D

ftp.acer.com is not anonymoulsy accessable.

Other acer ftp sites have no files for BD drives.

i've already called acer support center.
they told me acer "assembles" only the components, so if burner is sony oem i must ask sony the firmware.
acer doesn't have any burner firmware, so they can't give me a new one.

I've also checked acer ftp and there is no trace of any firmware of any hw device.

Regards

They cheated on you.
They "assemble" the componrents to sell them together, so they are in charge to give support for it.
Sony will tell you that you didn't buy the drive as Sony retail or within a Sony Computer (sony oem) and will deny giving you support - which is understandable in this case.
ACER is the company you should give a little pressure.
