Hello,

I've got this :
CIBOX Graveur DVD 16X Interne

Grave les DVR+R en 16X
Grave les DVR+R Double Couche (DL) en 2.4X
Grave les DVR-R/+RW en 8X
Grave les DVR-RW en 4X
Grave les CD-R en 48X
Grave les CD-RW en 24X
Lecture des DVD Simple Couche en 16x (DVD-5)
Lecture des DVD Double Couche en 8X (DVD-9)

My problems are :

- Since I've formatted my XP OS to Xp cocoon version (+SP2) I can't read any DVDRW, I can't burn any DVD R+ or R- neither DVDRW + or -

When I use Nero (I've tested 6.6.0 version, Nero 6.3.0 version and Nero 7 premium version...) it starts to take files in cache, so it's searching for 5 minutes at least, screen freezes a little bit and it starts burning... but it stops and says that the media disc is not available !!

Nevertheless, using clone DVD program I have no problem to burn a DVDR+ it's very fast (about 6 minutes) and no error appears, the DVDR+ is read with no error by the writer


- the second problem is that I don't find the firmware for this writer, I've searched in topics but only 2 for CIBOX and it's USB
I've looked for BTC one but I don't know if it's really compatible...

Could you help me please ?

The necessary firmware is already on the drive, no need to update it yet.

Make sure you have chosen the correct settings in the motherboard BIOS regarding USB and installed necessary patches and updates - the crux with windows.

The only real problem seems to be with your Nero version(s). So either update it or make sure it can work with this burner and combination.

I don't know what is the problem with USB ?? the re writer is on IDE it's an internal one not a usb one...

for windows and nero version I think it's probably the problem not compatible perharps... (same problem with nero which was in the re writer pack...)

I've installed the aspi driver and it's the same problem (in nero tool : system aspi installation is corrupted ; nero aspi is ok... )

I'll try tonight to install another burning program and if it doesn't match yet I will install titanium Xp

Maybe you can try burning with cdburnerxp and imgburn and post logfiles.

Hello, news of the day...

So I've tried 5 burning programs (include cdburnerxp) and it's always the same problem... ( + a DVD+R out )

I think this windows XP edition doesn't recognize cheap rewriters

I don't want spending hours to burn an image and burn it with clone dvd !

I will install another OS tomorrow and that's all !!
