I have been search for help on the web in getting various DVDs made code free.
I am sure I am not the only one who is annoyed that you cannot play films bought in the US over in the UK and the same the other way round.
I don't know what others think but it is surely not right.
You pay enough for these entertainment systems and computer systems and it is wrong that we should not be able to play any disc that you put in it as long it is a dVD of course.
We have accumulated a few DVDs bought in Australia and the US over recent years and well we cannot play them.
Having checked a couple of forums I found a website [Web Link Removed] which appears to be recommended as a source for information to unlock the vast majority of players.
We have a Panasonic recorder, a Samsung player and an Acer DVDrom that my son has in his bedroom.
So I tried the site and to my surprise they were able to provide me with instructions to make our Panasonic multiregion. I was amazed becuse I got nowhere searching for help on this. The people who run the site also gave me information on making the Liteon region free and even helped me understand the whole issue because I am not technically minded. Really really helpful. It is a shame there are not more like this.
I was anxious I guess at first but there was no need to be as I found out.
I do not understand why there are these restrictions in any case and surely people would agree it istotally wrong and maybe action should be taken to change this.

I think the real rip off is that we cannot have multiregion players as standard.
I agree that it is wrong that we have to scramble around for info on this.
All I can say is that I got tired of looking for help on this and tried any number of websites including the one mentioned and found this DVD unlocks service through DVD reviewer. They did all the work for me for as they say for the equivalent of a pint of beer.
I am well aware that one particular site quoted me a fortune for unlocking my Panasonic. All involved some soldering work and it all seemd a bit too complicated and expensive.
So I have done my homework
I cannot see that at that price the DVD Unlocks service is unreasonable really, especially as it all worked.
The feedback you referred to at [Web Link Removed] seemed to me to be fairly good.
I am a cynical so and so but I have to take my hat off to the guy that runs it.

That is clearly no ripoff but biz, big biz.
Since 2001 no dvd drive is allowed to be manufactured and sold without RPC-2.
This "ebay powerseller" is making money with FREELY, official available info from various non-profit sites collected in their databases by thousands of people.
Nowadays enough good sites like videohelp.com offer great info you can study before buying eg. a dvd player, that includes finding and choosing one that can be easily region free'd by using a remote hack. They offer this also for FREE, so why should that guy get any good rep for "his biz"?!

I hear what you say, but quite frankly I would gladly have given this guy a couple of pints for doing all the work of finding these free utilities as you describe them for me.
I just don't have the time to go through all the trial and error involved either.
Let someone else do it, I say and they did.
I am sorry if that offends anyone.

Thanks for making the second account to reply to yourself on our forum and confirm that you are only here to advertise your illegitimate service. Amateur.
