I have a Samsung V25 laptop here, the original drive - an SN-324F/MMC had broken so I bought a replacement.
The replacement drive is in the same series; an SN-324F/DDS.
The problem I have is that the BIOS does not accept the new drive. The only way to get it to work is to insert the original drive, boot to Windows, then "hot swap" to the new drive. Then it works perfectly! However, on restarting the computer, the problem reoccurs.
Reading
this thread, it appears that I need to reflash the firmware to either cable select, slave or master as the Samsung V25 seems to be quite picky.
How can I change this on my new drive?
