The Firmware Page

Hi,

The SD-R2102 Rev. A combo drive in my Toshiba Satellite 1800 laptop died on me and I'm now trying to get a SD-R2412 combo drive to work. Unfortunately I'm getting the "IDE #1 error" message. The firmware on the old SD-R2102 drive is 1715 (inverse CSEL). The firmware on the new SD-R2412 is 1F18. What inverse CS firmware should I use on the SD-R2412?

the latest inverse CSEL firmware is 1718.

Worked like a dream. Flashed the drive on a Fujitsu-Siemens laptop that did recognize it, put it back in the toshiba and bingo..

I have the same problem (ide error 1). I flashed the firmware but under windows. How did u do? Did u opertae under dos? What inverse csel mean?

You have an completely different drive. For those Toshiba drives DOS flashers exist which makes it easier to crossflash.
