Hi I have a FujitsuSiemens C Series Lifebook + QSI sdr-081 DVDROM drive.
The drive has deteriated very quickly used to read everything now doesnt read anything CD or DVD!
I have looked through the forums and found that flashing the drive may be benificial to me.
But I dont know which firmware to flash it with or exactly how to do it!
Could someone please help me???

would clean the drive first, firmware cannot fix hardware issues

clean the optical lense, your system will report everything ok, it cannot recognise that the drive isn't reading right, also try unistalling everything under ata/atapi controllers, also test to see if you can boot from it, eg with windows disc etc, this may elimanate a system conflict in windows
