I am thinking that it xshuold be only a problem of my own writer that not write good at speeds higher than 6X with DVD+/-R Verbatim 16X.
With my past 110D I had no problems to write at 16X (nominal), but now when I write at this nominal speed all seems to go ok, but when I run the verify function it finds several CRC errors. I use NERO 7.2.0.3, but if I burn an image and I writ it with ImgBurn when it run the verify function, also it finds many CRC errors. Now I use the origina fw 1.19, but these errors are also with the TDB fw.
If I write at 6X or less there are not errors.

my pioneer works great with verbatim 16x media, what is the media id?, also the dangerous bros is the same as the official for writing purposes, all that is changed is the region coding

Maybe you should replace the ide cable first.

The media are Verbatimi in original pack and the media ID is ok.
Before to use this DVR-111 I have used an 110D without any problems
and the 80 pins cable is the same.
Note that I can write at 16x (nominal) without any errors with Nero7:
these are reported only if I verify the media with, i.e., DVDInfo Pro.

what numbers are we talking about here
