hi, im in trouble here, and i would appreciate your help-
yesterday i flashed my samsung sd-616b (f000) with sfdnwin and the old firmware was f000 and the new one was f000 too, so i flashed it and waited around 5 minutes and i restarted my pc as prompted, then windows started and my pc detected my dvd drive as always, so i thought everything went great. then i grabbed a dvd and decided to test the drive, but when i opened the tray it closed automatically, and i opened it for another 10 times and it always closed, so i read that i needed to shut down my pc and it would go ok, so i shuted my pc and powered it, then the windows xp boot image came in as always, but windows didnt start, i waited half hour for windows to start but nothing, so i did this around 5 times, but as always, nothing. so i disconnected my dvd rom and windows started, then i shut down my pc and reconnected my drive, hoping it would detect it as a new drive and that windows started with the drive connected, but as u know, windows didnt start when i pluged my drive, so now im using my pc with the drive disconnected, and i dunno how to repair it! please help me

sorry for my english, im mexican :)

And what exact OEM firmware was on the drive before??

Look at the top of the drive, on the sticker.

Without doubt, you have flashed with a wrong firmware...

There are many different OEM firmwares with the same name, but with different IDs and "ingredients".

See: http://etna.rpc1.org/samsung/index.html

It's seen by the BIOS, then plug the data cable on when you have booted up. Maybe that works.

Startup with the data cable unplugged, when the OS has loaded, plug it in too.

You'd have to try with all those available. I have no idea what OEM firmware was on your drive...

Maybe you should try the RPC-1 firmware available, even it has a different numbering.
But it's a risk, on the other side if your drive actually won't work, what have you to lose?
