Is then the L version the ultimate one with bitsetting and Labelflash?
Thanks in advance!
Usually I try it myself but I just put together an external writer with the DVR-111(D) in an enclosure for a friend who's coming from abroad and I would hate to kill his drive. On the other side I would like to upgrade his new writer to the best firmware out here.

there is no problem in flashing straight to the L firmware, it gives bitsetting and labelflash, also run it through MCSE for riplock removal and media strat swaps

Thanks, PumaUK and also to my old friend [_chef_]!
Works like a charm. Infotool and DVDInfoPro show Labelflash capability now.
Flashing works only with the drive connected directly to an IDE channel and not via USB or Firewire in the enclosure. But no problem.
I guess my buddy will be pleased with his new burner.

Puma,
I flashed the EXT type.
No, the flasher part of the 8.19 firmware doesn't support USB or Firewire. Same applies to 1.06 but not to the 1.19. You can flash 1.19 via USB and Firewire.
I'm not absolutely sure - but it looks to me that only the integrated flasher in one .exe file supports cross-flashing. 1.19 comes as 2 files with firmware and flasher.

You need Nero 7 or higher. There were only some customized versions of Nero 6.6 for the NEC burner.

Then it's not the correct Nero version/release. Because LF were officially only released for europe so far (AFAIK), it requires an european Nero release to be enabled. That one is mostly called Reloaded/Premium.
With the correct serial actual v6 and v7 will work - that doesn't mean you should get such a serial from anywhere now.

The chosen language itself should have nothing to do with it.
The serial, starting with something like "1A-25" would enable LF.

I know in the 10,000 pages of posts there is a very clear set of links for crosflashing the 111 to a A11! But on a dial up modem this is getting very frustrating! Do I just use DVR update 2.2, or current DVR Flash, or something else like the DB version?
I just want a straight A11 at this point in time as I have done my 109 and 110, if I can have bitsetting and a A11 at the same time then that would be ok but not mandatory.
Thanks all.

Trying it now! First try said target not found! trying another file and my backup proceedure! sometimes you need to put a blank disk in the drive for some setups!
worked! now trying the 1.19FW from DB.
No quiet drive utility for the A11?
