I need some info about my problem with NEC ND-4571A

I put NEC 4571A on the same cabel as Samsung 60GB HDD and Windows froze in about 3 minutes and then what happened...

After reset CDROM no more...
BIOS give me only some funny letter (U-round)...HAHAHA

So can i re-flash...please :roll: :oops: :roll: ???

NO and no...

I can use warranty but i need faster...

Im looking for NEC DOS F/W Loader you can see it on this site http://www.edisc.com.cn/bike/viewnews.btml?id=623

I send some emails to NEC but they say they don't support separately sold drives...

Any help Please ???

flashing firmware isn't going to solve a configuration issue on your pc, check your jumper on the back of the drive and ensure you have it for slave, if its second on the ide channel to the HDD

This flash program is for a DVD-ROM drive, this tool will not work with the ND-4571A

This is not something that can be addressed by flashing. You have either connected it wrongly, or broken it.

Try attaching it on its own without the hard drive, or as previously indicated make sure one is jumpered as master, and the other as slave. Make sure the hard drive is jumpered in way that it expects a slave drive. Some drives have several settings, consult the label/manual.

Forget it...........................................

It looks like controler is going to hell

The hard disk have master jumber and BIOS is showing me slave ???

I have some funky system ABIT KT400...

this is not possible, is your drive recognised in windows? if so post discinfo output here
